This lighting piece embodies aether, a substance that, before modern science, was thought to fill the air as a medium for transmitting light. A translucent membrane floats inside a shade of blown glass to create a soft, all-encompassing light as if emitted by aether. The membrane receives and diffuses the light pouring down from the source above. This piece, incorporating the ARAKAWA GRIP in its suspension mechanism, debuted at SaloneSatellite 2022 in Milan. The artwork was showcased at "BEHIND THE LIGHT," a commemorative event organized by arakawagrip at TIERS GALLERY, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Y.S.M. Corporation, which was staged in honor of the firm that made the work's prototype.
