CPK GALLERY

The CPK Gallery in Asakusabashi was designed to facilitate a multidisciplinary platform for fashion design under the initiation of NIPPON COMPACK, a supplier of clothing hangers and shop fittings. Given its nature as a gallery, flexibility and neutrality are fundamental. Nevertheless, the philosophy of NIPPON COMPACK and passion for craftsmanship remains essential to the gallery's signature.
One day, at a meeting, we came across some wooden hanger parts manufactured at NIPPON COMPACK's factory in China. We wondered if we could piece together various types of those parts to create a screen that would be unique to CPK Gallery. In this way, the cost would be exceptional as it is a product of their own company. The screen that stands over 3 meters high, created out of solid wood, carries a considerable load. Yet, ARAKAWA GRIP made it appear as if the wood was woven into the screen, giving it a soft impression.
