Ichijo toma gallery is a tatami-floored exhibition space in a renovated old Japanese-style house attached to the Tokyo office of kooo architects. In addition to the tatami, natural materials such as diatomaceous earth and reclaimed wood are used to communicate the beauty of Japanese clothing, food, and housing, creating a space that explores Japan's "beauty." The alcove, which also serves as an exhibition space, is equipped with a picture rail and indirect lighting to accommodate a variety of exhibition styles. Due to their ability to adjust height freely up and down, wire grips by Arakawa & Co., Ltd. are used to exhibit each work at an appropriate level.
