I have been using ARAKAWA GRIP in various settings, and one of my recent works was installing glass hanging shelves in the lounge of the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, where I oversaw the exterior and part of the interior design. I designed it to use the wires to accommodate a load of nearly 300 kg without interfering with the sense of airiness. Even though the execution was complex and challenging, the delicate nuance would not have been enhanced if a steel pipe or other heavyweight materials had supported it. And the result was everything we hoped it would be.
We conduct extensive experimentation before using hardware. After all, we cannot create new parts from scratch whenever we undertake a new project. Although we can sometimes create some hardware from scratch depending on the scale of the project, we usually have to choose from existing products. Consequently, we devise ways to bring out the desired expression. Thus, we are grateful that there are products that we can depend on, such as those of ARAKAWA GRIP.

Our criterion in selecting a product is closely related to the manufacturer's flexibility when customization or partial modification of the product is desired. While many companies stubbornly insist on delivering only existing products, ARAKAWA GRIP is willing to work with clients to fine-tune even the most minor details. When we designed a bag store, "Anteprima," ARAKAWA GRIP customized a set of hardware for the brand. Moreover, it is incredible how the requests from the users are utilized in their creation of products, and this sort of feedback represents the ideal relationship between the manufacturer and the clients. text by Masaaki Takahashi
